SCWO Volunteers’ Tea Talk: Making connections for a cause

On Saturday, 1 April, SCWO organised the Volunteers’ Tea Talk as our ongoing effort to build our volunteering community. Volunteers had the opportunity to network and learn about SCWO’s work while enjoying a delightful spread of refreshments. Our guest speaker, Ms Priscilla Gan from the National Council of Social Services (NCSS), also shared an inspiring presentation about the impact of volunteering and motivated volunteers to continue their selfless contributions towards building a better society.

The audience consisted of long-time volunteers who have dedicated their time and effort to various SCWO initiatives, as well as new volunteers who were eager to explore opportunities to make a difference in the community. The event created a positive and inspiring atmosphere, which fostered valuable connections among volunteers across different backgrounds. Volunteers were happy to hear that their contributions are making significant impacts to SCWO and women in need, and they left the event feeling motivated and energised to continue their work.

In her welcome speech, SCWO CEO Koh Yan Ping expressed her gratitude for the volunteers’ dedication and highlighted the vital role of volunteerism in promoting social change.

Overall, the Volunteers’ Tea Talk was a meaningful and engaging event that encouraged collaboration and furthered our mission of promoting volunteerism in the community. We look forward to planning more events to not just grow our network of volunteers, but also give back to them by providing support and recognition for their invaluable contributions towards the betterment of society.
