The New2U Thrift Shop’s Year-End Bazaar was a tremendous success! This annual event not only brought together a community of sustainable shoppers but also managed to raise more than $21,000, thanks to the unwavering support of our dedicated followers and volunteers.
A Celebration of Community and Sustainability
The Year End Bazaar held at the New2U Thrift Shop within the SCWO Centre was a celebration of community spirit and a commitment to sustainable living. The shop, run entirely by volunteers, is a treasure trove of pre-loved items ranging from clothing and accessories to household goods and, most highly anticipated, designer goods. The Year End Bazaar, held between 17 November 2023 to 19 November 2023, showcased a collection of these items, providing a unique shopping experience for everyone.
The SCWO Centre
The unique location of the thrift shop provided shoppers and visitors with the opportunity to learn about and discover many amazing women who helped shape the lives of women in Singapore. Surrounding our walls are short biographies of awesome women, like Zena Clarke Tessensohn and Agnes Joaquim. Visitors were treated to a mini exhibition through the hallway of the SCWO Centre.
Gratitude for Supporters
SCWO would like to express our deepest gratitude to all those who attended the Year End Bazaar, making it a resounding success. The overwhelming response from the community reflects a shared commitment to sustainability, community engagement, and supporting meaningful causes.
The funds raised, totalling over $21,000, will go a long way in supporting SCWO’s initiatives aimed at empowering women, promoting gender equality, and making a positive impact on the lives of those in need. Your generosity is a testament to the strength of our community and its collective dedication to creating a better, more equitable world.
A Shout-Out to Our Volunteers
None of this would have been possible without the tireless efforts of our incredible team of volunteers. Their passion, dedication, and hard work in organising, setting up and executing the Year End Bazaar were truly commendable. Their commitment to the SCWO’s mission is inspiring, and we are immensely grateful for the time and energy they invest in making our events successful.
A big shout out to volunteers from Manulife SG, Standard Chartered Bank and Charles and Keith for your continuous support!
A Shout-Out to Our Donors Too
As much as we truly appreciate the support of our volunteers, without donors who constantly provide preloved items of value, we would not have been able to raise funds in support of SCWO’s initiatives.
A BIG THANK YOU, to all our donors who contributed their preloved designer bags, great quality clothing and second-hand lovable knick-knacks.
As we close the chapter on another successful Year End Bazaar, SCWO remains committed to its mission of advocating for women’s rights and welfare for the vulnerable.
With your continued support, we look forward to achieving even greater milestones in the coming year.
Whether you are a long-time supporter or someone who recently joined the SCWO community, your involvement makes a difference. Thank you for standing with us, for supporting New2U Thrift Shop, and for contributing to the success of the Year End Bazaar.
Together, we can continue to make a positive impact on the lives of women and families in need. Here’s to a future filled with community, compassion, and collective empowerment.
