    ACWO Board Of Directors Meeting

    The ASEAN Confederation of Women’s Organisations (ACWO) held their 2nd Meeting of the 19th ACWO Board of Directors (2018-2020) virtually on 11th August 2020. Dr June Goh, Chairperson of ACWO, presided over the meeting and warmly welcomed the ACWO Board of Directors and delegates from the 10 ASEAN Member States – National Council of Women of Brunei Darussalam, Cambodian Women for Peace and Development, Kongres Wanita Indonesia, Lao Women’s Union, National Council of Women’s Organisations of Malaysia, Myanmar Women’s Affairs Federation, National Council of Women of the Philippines, National Council of Women of Thailand, Vietnam Women’s Union, and Singapore Council of Women’s Organisations.     Intern Reflection: Alyssa

    As a child, I was a fan of the Harry Potter books and movies; my favourite character in particular was Hermione Granger because of her intelligence and fierce love for her friends. It was through Emma Watson, the actress who acted as Hermione in the films, that I was first introduced to feminism and the concept of gender equality. In 2014, I watched a video of a nervous Emma Watson taking the stage at the United Nations Headquarters to make a speech for the HeForShe campaign.
