BoardAgender Launches Inaugural Mentoring Programme for Aspiring Women Directors 2021
BoardAgender’s inaugural Mentoring Programme for Aspiring Women Directors 2021 introduces aspiring and “next-generation” female directors (“Mentees”) based in Singapore to experienced Directors (“Mentors”) who will assist Mentees in meeting their specific directorship-related goals. The Programme will consist of one-on-one mentoring with an experienced Director, as well as formal Mentee development sessions. Mentees will arrange times to meet/speak with their Mentors monthly from July to December. The formal Mentee development session includes a series of events and sessions covering peer-to-peer sharing and sharing by senior board members and professional organisations. On the 24th of September, BoardAgender successfully ran another round of our trademark SG50 Champions of Change Luncheons, which has garnered the attention and approval of current as well as aspiring directors. Having More Women on Boards is a Business Imperative
On 5 October, Diversity Action Committee (DAC) presented its report 'Women on Boards: Tackling the Issue' to Mr Tan Chuan-Jin, Minister for Social and Family Development. The Diversity Action committee is chaired by Mr Magnus Bocker, former Chief Executive Officer of Singapore Exchange Ltd, and its Adviser is Madam Halimah Yacob, Speaker of Parliament of Singapore.
