About The Speaker

Ms Junie Foo
Immediate Past President, Singapore Council of Women’s Organisations
Immediate Past President, Singapore Council of Women’s Organisations
Ms Junie Foo brings a rare cross-sector perspective shaped by senior leadership in both corporate banking and the non-profit world. Formerly the only Singaporean woman leading corporate banking in Asia Oceania for a Japanese financial institution, she later served as CEO of a large charitable organisation supporting nearly 10,000 beneficiaries.
With over 20 years of dedication to advancing women’s leadership through the Financial Women’s Association, International Women’s Forum, BoardAgender (which she co-founded), and SCWO, where she now serves as Immediate Past President, Junie also represents Singapore on the ASEAN Commission on the Promotion and Protection of the Rights of Women and Children (ACWC).
At this Community of Practice session, Junie will offer candid reflections on what board service truly entails, the dynamics, responsibilities, and unspoken realities that shape leadership in the non-profit sector.
