ILLUMINATE. Shine Together. Rise Together (SCWO 2026 Gala & 12th Singapore Women's Hall of Fame Induction)
A Night of Collective Strength, Stories and Support
On 27 March 2026, the Singapore Council of Women’s Organisations (SCWO) brought together partners, supporters, and members of the community for ILLUMINATE. Shine Together. Rise Together., our annual Gala and the 12th Singapore Women’s Hall of Fame (SWHF) Induction Ceremony.
The evening was a powerful reflection of what is possible when women are supported, believed in, and uplifted. It was not only a celebration of achievement, but a reaffirmation of our shared commitment to building a society where women have equal space, voice and worth.
Honouring Women Who Shaped Singapore

SWHF 2026 Honourees (L to R): Dr Shalini Arulanandam, Ms Pauline Tan, Veronica Low (niece of the late Maud Perera), Guest of Honour, SCWO Patron, Ms Jane Ittogi, SCWO President Dr Seow Yian San, Meira Chand and Angelene Chan.
At the heart of the evening was the induction of the 2026 cohort into the Singapore Women’s Hall of Fame, a tribute to women whose contributions have shaped Singapore’s social, cultural and professional landscape.
Each inductee’s story reflected courage, leadership, and a deep sense of purpose. Their journeys remind us that progress is not built overnight, but through the persistence and conviction of those who choose to lead, often against the odds.
The ceremony served as both recognition and inspiration, honouring those who have paved the way, while encouraging future generations to continue building forward.
Stories That Grounded the Evening

Empowered Choir: Women and children from Maintenance Support Central's Single Mothers' Support Group
Beyond celebration, the Gala created space for voices and lived experiences that reflect the realities many women continue to navigate.
A deeply moving performance by the Empowered Choir, comprising members of SCWO’s Single Mothers Support Group, brought these stories to life. Their voices carried strength, vulnerability, and hope, a reminder of the journeys behind the work we do.
More than a performance, their presence on stage reflected the resilience, courage, and community that define their experiences. It was a powerful expression of why support systems matter and how, with the right support, women can move forward with dignity, strength, and renewed possibility.
A Conversation on Strength and Resilience

A conversation with Yip Pin Xiu and SCWO Past President, Ms Junie Foo
A highlight of the evening was an intimate and thoughtful conversation with Yip Pin Xiu, Singapore’s Paralympic champion and advocate.
Her reflections on discipline, resilience, and redefining limitations resonated deeply with the audience. More than her achievements, it was her mindset grounded in perseverance and clarity that underscored what it truly means to rise, even in the face of adversity.
A Community That Shows Up
The generosity of our community was evident throughout the evening.
We are proud to share that a total of $406,565 was raised, through donations, auction contributions, and raffle participation.

SCWO Fundraising Chairperson, Ms Paige Parker, announcing the total funds raised: $406,565
Every contribution will go towards supporting SCWO’s programmes, including Star Shelter, Maintenance Support Central, and the Single Mothers Support Group, enabling us to continue providing critical support, safe spaces, and pathways forward for women and families in need.
Shine Together. Rise Together.

SCWO Board Members with Guest of Honour (L to R): Ms Mrinalini Venkatachalam, Mdm Jeanette Ng, Ms Bay Teck Cheng, Ms Kelley Wong, Ms Ong Soh Chin, Ms Junie Foo, Guest of Honour, SCWO Patron Ms Jane Ittogi, Dr Seow Yian San, Mdm Noorfarahin Ahmad, Ms Paige Parker, Ms Liyana Sinwan, Dr June Goh, Ms Sim Hwee Hoon (Absent with apologies: Ms Grishma Kewada)
ILLUMINATE 2026 was more than an event. It was a collective moment, one that brought together stories of strength, acts of generosity, and a shared belief in a better future.
As we reflect on the evening, we are reminded that meaningful change does not happen in isolation. It happens when communities come together to listen, to support, and to act.
And when we do, we do not just shine as individuals.
We rise, together.
