[Member’s Event] AWARE’s Sexual Assault Casework Training

Recognising the complexity of supporting sexual violence survivors, we have specially invited resource persons from the legal and healthcare sectors to share valuable insights into the survivor’s journey through different systems—including police reporting, criminal court proceedings, and hospital processes.

Eligibility Requirements for this Workshop

  • Please review the eligibility requirements carefully before signing up.

  • This training is tailored for helping professionals who work directly with survivors of sexual violence and focuses on developing trauma-informed case management skills for frontline support.

  • If you do not meet the criteria, we will be unable to accommodate your participation and will issue a refund, minus any processing fees.

Who Is Eligible to Attend:

  • Social workers, counsellors, case workers who work with survivors of sexual violence

  • Community workers and institutional workers (schools, hospitals, non-profit organisations) who work with survivors of sexual violence and wish to strengthen their capacity.

By the end of this 2-day training programme, participants will be able to:

  1. Gain a deeper understanding of sexual violence

  2. Apply trauma-informed principles in your practice to support survivors in making empowered, informed choices.

  3. Learn how to navigate the different systems (current legal and medical landscape) that sexual violence survivors interface with.

  4. Engage in dialogue with fellow practitioners on the various operational and legal challenges in working with sexual violence cases.

Workshop Details 

  • Dates: Tuesday, 7 October & Wednesday, 8 October 2025

  • Time: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Lunch and refreshments included)

  • Venue: LCCS Training Space (3779 Jalan Bukit Merah, #02-01 Bukit Merah Community Hub Singapore 159462)

  • Fees: $540 per participant

  • Early Bird Promo: $500 if you sign up before 31 August 2025

An Interactive Session By 

Cindy Tay, Director of Melrose Home, a residential care facility under the Children’s Aid Society in Singapore, is the trainer for this workshop. 

On Day 2 (afternoon session), Mavis Teo and Eng Peng Peng, experienced Medical Social Workers from KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital, along with Ijin Tan, a lawyer, will share about the client’s journey in the medical and criminal justice system respectively.
