SCWO’s Presidents’ Forum Welcomes the Year of the Dragon
It was a vibrant and memorable gathering on Saturday, 17th February as SCWO members gathered to network with one another and welcome the auspicious Year of the Dragon!
Our annual Presidents’ Forum was attended by the presidents and women leaders from various member organisations. Ms Junie Foo, President of SCWO, warmly welcomed everyone and shared about upcoming events. In her opening address, she highlighted the significance of such forums as pivotal platforms for fostering connections and collaborative efforts towards advancing gender equality and women’s empowerment.
At this year’s forum, we also welcomed 3 new members: Mama on Palette, Women in Sustainability and Environment (WISE), and Singapore Women’s Business Resource Group (Singapore WBRG).
This year’s forum featured speakers from the Singapore Institute of Directors (SID) and the Tripartite Alliance for Fair and Progressive Employment Practices (TAFEP).
CEO of SID, Mr Terence Quek shared about the importance of responsible leadership recruitment and practices. Ms Pauline Chong, Senior Manager at TAFEP, briefed members about important and fair employment practices, and how the upcoming Workplace Fairness Legislation can promote equality in the workplace. The forum served as a valuable session for members to gather insights and collaborate for uplifting women and girls within their respective organisations.
No Lunar New Year celebration would be complete without the customary Lo Hei! Members joyously gathered to partake in tossing the Yu Sheng, symbolising wishes for a prosperous year ahead.
