Presidents’ Forum and Annual Lohei Lunch 2020

The first Presidents’ Forum session of the year was held on 18 January 2020, which was attended by over 30 of our member organisations. This session was not only held for members to provide updates on their organisations’ plans for the new year but also to introduce the first round of recipients of the Seeds of Change fund and their projects.

The event started off with an opening address by our President, Dr June Goh, who highlighted the session’s rundown of events and introduced the recipients of the first round of the Seeds of Change fund. This year, the fund will be supporting 14 different projects from our member organisations — the Association of Women Doctors; Breastfeeding Mothers Support Group; The Connected Women; Financial Women’s Association Singapore; Innerwheel Club of Singapore West; International Women Federation of Commerce and Industry Singapore; Mums @ Work; PPIS; University Women’s Association Singapore; United Women Singapore; WEWAM; Young Women’s Christian Association; Young Women’s Leadership Connection; Zonta Club of Singapore — who were each given a chance to share their project with the attendees. The projects spearheaded by each of these organisations will work toward the betterment of women’s lives in Singapore, with post-motherhood employment being the focal point of many of them.

A few of our members took the floor to share with the rest of the participants some of their upcoming activities. Overall, it is looking like 2020 will be a year full of exciting and meaningful activities for Singapore’s community of women, and we are definitely looking forward to them all!

Due to the forum’s proximity to this year’s Lunar New Year, we rounded off the sharing with some Lo Hei, which was organised as a way for the participating members to usher in the Lunar New Year together. SCWO wishes all its members a very happy and prosperous year ahead!
