To kick off the new year, SCWO invited Ms Indranee Rajah, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office, and Second Minister for Finance and National Development to our Pre-Budget Dialogue on 6th January 2022. Women leaders from member organisations and friends of SCWO joined in this highly-engaging session to discuss pre-budget issues and exchange candid views on several pertinent topics related to women.
During the dialogue, there were many suggestions and consultative recommendations raised about providing support for women in vulnerable groups, flexible work arrangements, mentorship and childcare support for women in workplaces, as well as helping women thrive in a Post-COVID world.
It was indeed a highly-participative dialogue with members contributing meaningfully to the narrative of the role of women in the family and in workplaces. Minister Indranee affirmed that some concerns and recommendations will make their way into Budget 2022, and some into the Government’s upcoming White Paper on Singapore Women’s Development, along with other future initiatives.
