We have experienced lawyers who are available to give legal advice and information pertaining to Family Law to individuals who are unable to afford basic legal services. Legal clinic is open to all residing in Singapore, with an income cap criterion.

To register for an appointment, kindly complete the registration form here. MSC will assess your application and get back to you on your eligibility within 3-5 working days.

Civil Law Legal Clinic
Frequency: 1st & 3rd Monday of the month
Time: from 6.30pm to 8.30pm

Muslim Law Legal Clinic
Frequency: 3rd Monday of the month
Time: from 6.30pm to 8.30pm
By: Volunteer lawyers from the Law Society of Singapore’s Muslim Law Practice Committee.

1. What kind of legal advice can I get, and are there any matters the clinic does not handle?

Our volunteer lawyers provide general legal guidance only based on your query. They do not offer detailed casework or representation.

Please note, we do not handle business, corporate, or investment-related matters.

2. How long is each legal consultation?

Each consultation is limited to 20 minutes.

3. Will the volunteer lawyers represent me after the consultation?

No. Our volunteer lawyers cannot and will not represent or act on your behalf outside of the legal clinic.

If you require low-cost or pro bono legal representation:

  • Singapore Citizens or PRs may contact the Legal Aid Bureau (LAB) at 1800 225 5529.
  • Non-Citizens or Non-PRs may contact Pro Bono SG at 65360650.
4. Is the legal clinic service free?

Yes, the legal clinic is completely free of charge.

5. Is my case kept confidential?

Yes. All cases and information shared are kept strictly confidential.

6. Can I change my appointment after booking?

Yes, but you must inform the SCWO office at least 3 working days before the scheduled appointment to make any changes.

7. What happens if I miss my appointment?

If you miss your appointment, re-registration for another slot is subject to the discretion of the SCWO office.

8. What if I am not fluent in English?

The lawyers and staff at the clinic may not speak your preferred language. If you are not comfortable communicating in English, we strongly recommend bringing someone who can interpret for you in English to ensure you receive accurate guidance.

9. Can SCWO refuse or cancel my appointment?

Yes. SCWO reserves the right to refuse, cancel, or suspend services at our sole discretion at any time.
