Cat C, Third Place: “Their Light” by Joy Tang Yue Ying
I painted Indranee Nadisen. I had a wonderful childhood, and I was especially fond of her story about her love for children. I imagine that if I was her, I would continue to encourage younger and healthier parents to foster children and give them a chance to live the happy childhood all children deserve. The items and toys on the shelves represent all the families, past and present, who would have fostered children, inspired by her. The paper children around the lamp represent how her and her contributions to the fostering scheme have been a light in these children's lives.
