Cat C, First Place: “Paving the Wave” by Wong Shi Rui
I chose Yip Pin Xiu, whose achievements changed how people view disability in sports. Sixty years into the future, Singapore has built on her legacy by developing advanced assistive technology, such as robotic limbs, to support people with disabilities. ‘Paving the Wave’ reflects how her seven Paralympic gold medals inspired generations to believe that limitations can be overcome. Her journey continues to shape a more inclusive society, where determination, resilience, and equal opportunities allow everyone to pursue their dreams.
