Cat B, Honourable Mention: “Moving Forward for the Future of Arts” by Katie Ong Yifei
Stepping into the future as Georgette Chen, I imagine a Singapore where artists work hand-in-hand with AI and robotics to elevate creativity. In this artwork, I blend Nanyang influences with contemporary elements to show harmony between humans and technology. The crabs, inspired by the idea of reversing “crab mentality,” symbolise AI lifting people up instead of pulling them down. Surrounded by helpful painting robots, from floating water buckets to oil-colour assistants, this vision reflects a future where innovation supports, rather than replaces, the human spirit of art-making.
