Whistle-Blowing Policy

SCWO is committed to a high standard of transparency, integrity, compliance and accountability.

 

This Whistle Blowing Policy provides a means through which employees or members of the public could, in good faith, report any activity that infringes on the organisation’s code of conduct or violates the law so that the organisation may take the relevant action.

Who can report?

Anyone can whistle blow including without limitation the following:

  • Employees
  • Volunteers
  • Vendors / Subcontractors
  • Donors / Beneficiaries
  • Members of the public
What to Report?

Report or complaint which can be lodged include the following, but are not limited to these:

  • Impropriety, corruption, acts of fraud, theft and/misuse of SCWO’s properties, assets, or resources;
  • Conduct which is an offence or breach of law;
  • Conflict of interest without proper disclosure(s);
  • Breach of SCWO’s policies (e.g. confidentiality);
  • General malpractice such as immoral, illegal or unethical conduct;
  • Concealing information about any of the above malpractice or misconduct;
  • Any other serious improper conduct that may potentially cause financial or nonfinancial loss to SCWO or damage its reputation;
  • Manifestation of intention to mislead, deceive, or fraudulently influence any internal or external auditor in connection with the preparation, examination, audit or review of any financial statements or records of SCWO.

Please note that personal grievances or employment-related complaints are not whistle-blowing concerns.

Protection & Confidentiality

The whistle blower’s identity and the reported information should be kept confidential. SCWO will not tolerate discrimination, retaliation, or harassment of any kind against a whistle-blower who submits a complaint or report in good faith.

What happens next?
  • Assessment: Your concern will be reviewed to determine if investigation is required.
  • Investigation: If warranted, an independent investigation shall be conducted.
  • Resolution: Findings and recommendations will be reviewed by the Board and appropriate follow up actions will be taken.
  • Notification: Where possible, you shall be informed of the outcome.
