Dr Mary Ann Tsao
Chairperson and Founding Director, Tsao Foundation
Dr.Mary Ann Tsao is the Chairwoman and Founding Director of the Tsao Foundation, a Singapore- based, but regionally oriented non-profit operational foundation dedicated to issues of population ageing, healthy longevity and the well-being of older people at policy and practice levels by catalyzing constructive change. A leader in community-based eldercare, Mary Ann is a long-standing advocate for older people, especially older women. Mary Ann is also the current Chairwoman of the Tsao Family Office, which aspires to deploy all its assets for impact through how they invest as well as how they do philanthropy. She is currently also the Vice Chair for the newly established Tsao family foundation. Dr Tsao also serves on numerous boards and committees, and currently serves on the Board Director of Family Business Network (FBN) International, Lausanne, as well as its Asia chapter. For her work on ageing, Mary Ann received several National Day Awards from the Government of Singapore and was named by WHO in 2022 as one of the first 50 healthy ageing pioneers – global leaders recognized for transforming the world to be a better place to grow older. A US-trained paediatrician with a public health background, she has extensive experience working with disadvantaged communities.
