The Lives of Women
An exhibition by The Singapore Women’s Hall of Fame (SWHF)

As part of Singapore Women’s Hall of Fame (SWHF) outreach efforts to tell the untold stories of women in Singapore as well as to inspire young Singaporeans and the public to dare to dream and chart their own path, SWHF has come up with a three-part series of museum exhibition titled ‘The Lives of Women: What Life Was Like For Women In Pre-Independence Singapore’, with the first installation to be launched this May.

This first installation details the roles and status of women in the past and how some of our Hall of Famers contributed to the betterment of women’s lives in Singapore. Starting with a demographic overview illustrating the imbalance in gender numbers, the exhibition moves on to tell the story of the working women, education and professional women and women in healthcare and activism.
