MSC Talks: Divorce and Ancillary Matters

Are you unsure of what to expect when facing a divorce? Although the situation may be stressful, this talk will provide the necessary information that will be able to help you navigate these tough legal matters. In this MSC talk, Ms Dorothy Chai from DCMO Law Practice LLC, will be speaking on the divorce process and what to expect should you decide to file for it.

 She will be covering the grounds of divorce and ancillary matters such as custody, care and control, division of property and maintenance. This talk will not only benefit those of you going through divorce but inform you of your legal rights as a spouse and parent. Ms Chai will also be answering any questions you may have regarding divorce and prepare you for what to expect in court.

About the Speaker: Ms Dorothy Chai

Dorothy was called to the Bar of England and Wales (Gray’s Inn) in 1993 as a Barrister-at-Law and admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore in July 1994. She is an experienced matrimonial and divorce lawyer who has dealt with all aspects of family and matrimonial law. Whether in court or in mediation, Dorothy uses her independent and analytical mind to bear on legal problems. Equipped with strong interpersonal and communication skills interfaced with sensibility, Dorothy strongly believes in handling her clients’ individual needs and emotions with sensitivity and compassion.

Dorothy serves the public by regularly volunteering her time and expertise at the Legal Clinic in the Community Centre and SCWO. She has also given free talks and seminars on Family and Matrimonial Law as well as on Wills and Estate Planning to various organisations. She has also appeared on radio talks pertaining to family issues, given her passion for this area of law.
