Ahmad Nizam Abbas is the Managing Director of Crescent Law Chambers LLC. Over the last 30 years, he has contributed extensively to the development of Muslim law in Singapore through his court cases, advocacy work and teaching.

In 1998, he was part of the Law Society’s team that participated in the Parliamentary Select Committee’s hearing on the landmark amendments to the Administration of Muslim Law Act. He was Chairperson of the Law Society’s Muslim Law Practice Committee for more than a decade. He has collaborated with various institutions, both local and overseas, including the National University of Singapore and Singapore Management University to speak on Muslim Law.

In 2020, he co-created the first ever module on Muslim Family Law in Singapore for the LLB program at the Singapore University of Social Services .Since 2023,Ahmad is the Principal Examiner of the Muslim Family and Succession Law module at the Singapore Institute of Legal Education, which is the compulsory course for all law graduates who intend to be admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of Singapore.

Ahmad has written various articles which have been published locally and overseas. In 2022, a textbook he co-authored on Muslim Family Law in Singapore ( Academy Publishing) was launched by former Presiding Judge of the Family Justice Court, Justice Valerie Thean.
