IWG Goes Pink: Food and Prevention

Cooking class and workshop dedicated to awareness and prevention of breast cancer.
We will have two guest speakers. Ms. Jackie Green is a dietician with 15 years specialised experience in oncology at the Royal Marsden Hospital in the UK. Alessandra Gennaro is from Accademia Italiana delle Cucina.

Jackie Green is a British dietitian working in Singapore in private practice.
Prior to relocating in 2010, Jackie worked as an oncology dietitian at The Royal Marsden Hospital in UK, helping both adults and children to eat well during their cancer treatment. Good nutrition is crucial for maintaining strength and enables people to withstand the rigours of anti cancer treatment with fewer side effects. As cancer treatments have improved, so has the role of nutrition in the prevention of cancer and reducing the risk of recurrence. Jackie is a passionate advocate for diet and lifestyle modifications that are practical and manageable, helping people live well and feel well, with delicious nutritious food always being the focus
Alessandra Gennaro holds, among others, a degree in anthropology and has been always active in studying and promoting Italian gastronomic culture abroad. She is considered one of the most popular Italian food writers. She has published 10 cookbooks and sold over 30,000 copies. She is regularly invited to speak about food to the Turin Book Fair, RAI1 and conferences. She was a columnists for various food magazines and she currently publishes her own digital food magazine “Mag About Food”. She is a member of Accademia Italiana della Cucina.
Andrea Tranchero, Executive Regional Barilla Chef for Asia, Africa and Australia. Having worked in Italy, America, France, China, Japan and Australia, he has an invaluable over thirty years experience. During his time in Tokyo, Andrea was personally appointed to cook, among others, for Richard Branson of the Virgin Group, the President of the Italian Republic, Giorgio Napolitano and the designer, Giorgio Armani. Andrea has won many awards in his career, including the Star Diamond Award from The American Academy of Hospitality Sciences in recognition for being “One of the Finest Chefs Worldwide”. Andrea is also involved with FIC-AUS (Italian Chefs Federation in Australia) and he is the president of “Ateneo della cucina Italiana” and supervisor of the culinary team.
