FWA Celebrate International Women’s Day – #Breaking the Bias: Fostering a multigenerational workforce

More individuals are choosing to work beyond their retirement age. As the average lifespan of humans increases, the age diversity in the workforce we are seeing now is the widest ever. Each generation brings their own biases, mindsets, expectations, and communication styles to the workplace. Managing this increasingly multigenerational workforce involves a set of complex new challenges. Organisations must ensure that all generations feel valued. It is a fine balancing act and when not handled well, may be counterproductive and result in the loss of rich talent. Being aware of each other’s needs, challenges, viewpoints, strengths, biases – even fears, is key to unlocking the power of intergenerational collaboration in the workplace. Specifically, we will discuss:

  • Benefits of a multigenerational workforce
  • Multigenerational workforce challenges – how do we combat bias
  • ESG Strategy – a new cornerstone in attracting and retaining talents in a multigenerational workforce?
  • Managing a multigenerational workforce – best practices to nurturing an inclusive work environment
