    The Singapore Council of Women’s Organisations has Successfully Registered as an IPC

    The Singapore Council of Women’s Organisations has been successfully registered as an Institution of Public Character (IPC). Following this successful registration of SCWO as an IPC, we intend to deregister the IPC status of ‘SCWO – Star Shelter’ and ‘SCWO – Service Fund’ as IPCs. This is in line with SCWO’s plans to continue to create synergy and for better financial planning by reducing the costs of operations and compliance. ‘SCWO – Star Shelter’ and ‘SCWO – Service Fund’ are not separate legal entities of SCWO.     SCWO Appoints Angel Chan as CEO

    Singapore, Monday 17 May 2021 – Singapore Council of Women’s Organisations (SCWO) has appointed Angel Chan Sian Yian as the chief executive officer with effect from 17 May 2021. Prior to joining SCWO, Ms Chan headed the Office for Women’s Development (OWD) at the Ministry of Social and Family Development, a national focal point on gender policy matters and for international cooperation pertaining to women. Through OWD, Ms Chan spearheaded engagements between the government, women’s organisations, and the community to implement developmental initiatives and programmes for women in Singapore.
