    SCWO DURING COVID-19

    These last two months have seen surges in the number of Covid-19 cases, resulting in stricter stay-at-home measures nation-wide. Despite having to work from home, the SCWO has not reduced any of our efforts to ensure that women in Singapore are supported during these trying times. Some of the measures and projects that we have undertaken during this circuit breaker period include “Safe-Entry” and “Temperature Checking” for all who visit the SCWO Centre, “Working-from-Home” and Online Campaigns.     APT Women Sg Dispatch Programme

    SCWO had the pleasure of co-hosting a networking and mentoring session with Deloitte Japan, for the Tokyo delegates from the Acceleration Programme in Tokyo for Women (APT Women) on 9 January 2020. The APT, supported by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, aims to build a sustainable structure to support Japanese women entrepreneurs through a global network. Through this programme, these women can collaborate with organisations and mentors both locally and globally and be equipped with the skills for international expansion.     Internship Reflection – Eleanor Que

    Having attended a girls’ school for 10 years, I never doubted that women were and are as capable as men. However, the sociology classes I took in university opened my eyes to the reality of glass ceilings, gendered division of labour and under-representation of women in various fields, all which still prevail in Singapore. This pushed me to pursue my interest in women’s causes; I decided to apply for an internship at SCWO after hearing about it through the New2U Thrift Shop in 2018.
