Ms Teo Lin-Lee
Organisation: PA WIN
Lin-Lee is currently the Auditor of the People’s Association (PA) Women’s Integration Network (WIN) Council and has been its member since 2006. She is also the Vice-Chairman of the Queenstown Women’s Executive Committee (WEC) and the Queenstown Citizens’ Consultative Committee, which is at the apex of all grassroots organisations in each constituency.
The WIN Council is the National Coordinating Council for 104 WECs island wide. As one of the biggest women’s organisations in Singapore, the WIN Council brings together women of diverse backgrounds, ages and races, and empowers them with skills and knowledge to lead in and contribute to the community. Together with SCWO and NTUC Women and Family, the three organisations form a tripartite alliance that meets regularly with the Ministry of Social and Family Development.
Having served in the Council for the past 12 years, Lin-Lee has been actively involved in the Council’s key initiatives e.g. WEC Health Champions to promote healthy lifestyle among women, Young WEC Network to engage younger women, Groom-A-Child-To-Excel Mentorship Programme to develop the potential of young primary school-going girls from needy families and Citi-Tsao Foundation Financial Education Programme for Women to educate them on financial independence.
Amongst the numerous programmes Lin-Lee has spearheaded and organised to strengthen the support network for women, the formation of “Knit with Love” is extremely meaningful, which saw women from all walks of life coming together and knit for cancer patients (in partnership with Singapore Cancer Society), elderly and residents. The Interest Group has expanded from 10 to 50 knitters with a year.
Lin-Lee has also led several GRC events from 2008 to 2017 to bring families of young and old together. For her achievements, she was awarded the Bintang Bakti Masyarakat (BBM) in 2016.
Professionally, she has worked in multi-national corporations for years before returning to family business 10 years ago. She holds a Master Degree in Business Administration (University of Leicester) and certifications in English for Commerce, Business Communication and Human Resource Development. Being a firm believer in lifelong learning, Lin-Lee is in her 2nd year of an LLB programme with the University of Birmingham City. She hopes to enhance her position as Leader of the legal clinic which she has started in the Queenstown constituency in 2017 and help provide pro-bono legal advice to residents.
